January 2006 - Love Makes The World A More Beautiful Place

People often look at the disabled with pity, thinking that they are handicapped and are a burden to society. This has caused the disabled to feel extremely inferior. They dare not mix with people but hid themselves to cry alone in the dark!

The fact is disabled people are not retarded! All they need is diligent training and encouragement and they are able to handle many tasks as well as any ordinary person. A good testimony was seen at the Charity Dinner - "Making the World a more Beautiful Place" held on Nov 27, 2005 at the Summit Hotel, Subang Jaya.

There were 16 members from the Beautiful Gate Disabled Foundation who performed on stage. They presented 6 dances using the wheelchairs as legs. Accompanied by lively music coupled with vivid facial expressions, graceful body movements, skilful handling of the wheelchairs, these disabled danced forth the colours of life, charging the night with joy and love. Indeed it is because of love that they step forth boldly on stage, testifying to the world that love can transform life. They are like butterflies that break forth from the cocoon, full of colours and freedom, brightening the gloomy world!

Three members from Beautiful Gate presented a singing item. They sang God's Love, admonishing all to rip off bad habits, treasure life and never give up!

Sister Lee Pei Sun gave a wonderful testimony. Though she could not articulate clearly, words from her heart really put a lot of attendees to tears. After the dinner, some sisters went forward to hug her.

Group singing was the finale of the night. When all the presenting members stood on stage to sing their heart out, the guests responded by standing up, clapping and joining in their singing. The entire venue was filled with joyful singing. It was a very touching sight!

This Charity Dinner was organised jointly by *Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled, Sin Chew Jit Poh, Meda Inc. Bhd., The Summit Hotel and BLS Production. Some of the VIPs were CAC President Rev Boh Che Suan, MCA President Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting, Datin Seri Wendy Ong, Datin Seri Ann Chan, YB Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun and YB Dato' Lee Hwa Beng.

RM100,000 was raised as operation fund of Beautiful Gate from this Charity Dinner. A word of thanks to the contributors, churches and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event a success. Most of all, praises and thanks to our Heavenly Father who has faithfully watched over this Disabled Ministry for the past 12 years!
