The Methodist Education Foundation organised a fund raising event through the MEF Charity Golf 2018 tournament held on the 17th May 2018. The golf tournament was held at the Sungai Long Golf & Country Club. 

A total of 88 golfers took part and the event raised a total of RM137,000 for the Foundation. The day of the game was bright and sunny, and the golfers had an enjoyable game with many prizes donated by individuals and corporate bodies. 

In 2017 the MEF gave scholarships to 75 students studying in tertiary institutions totalling RM257,000 and grants to poor and needy school going children in 7 schools totalling RM33,000. In addition a grant of RM20,000 was given to the Hope Methodist Vocational Centre located in Sitiawan to help them start their vocational training programme for poor young people to learn skills in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. 

We are expecting more applications for scholarships and grants in 2018. We pray that more people and corporate bodies will donate to the Foundation to help meet the needs of needy students.
