September 2006 - Times of Refreshing

TRAC National Youth Counselors Retreat 2006
The TRAC Board of Youth Work had our long awaited Youth Counselors Retreat at The Pines Resort in Fraser's Hill from the 18 - 20 August 2006. The theme was "Times of Refreshing".

Mr Sherman Kuek, part time lecturer in Seminari Theoloji Malaysia (STM), shared on the topic 'Theological Reflection on Youth Ministry'. Everyone was very encouraged by his sharing especially about how to live the Kingdom of God in this world.

Dr Herbert Tan then shared about TRAC's national vision and strategy. The counselors had a clearer picture of the Board's focus and direction. Rev. Christopher Rao led in a time of quiet reflection of connecting with God in the mornings. He also shared about the importance of our relationship with God.

The counselors had a good time of fellowship with one another. There were fifteen of us in all. We shared our experiences, about how we can help and encourage one another in the youth ministry. We can connect better with one another now as we know each other a bit more. I am sure we all had a good time to relax and enjoy God's creation. It was a first time experience for some coming to Fraser's Hill and a good experience too!!

We would like to thank all who came for this retreat and has been such an encouragement to us. We would also like to thank Mrs Rhema Rao who was in charge of the worship sessions for this retreat. Our grateful thanks to God who lead us through everything.
