31st Session TAC Methodist Women

The 31st Session of the TAC-Methodist Women, hosted by the Northern District, was held from 19 - 21 August 2006 at the Stella Maris Centre, Penang.

The theme of the Conference was That we may be one in Christ - through studying God's Word.

About 170, comprising delegates, observers and guests attended this session.

Gracing the occasion with their presence were the President of the TAC, Rev. P. Tevaraji, the District Superintendent of the Northern District, Rev. Vincent Jayaraj, pastors, the President GC-MW, YB Datin Judy Lau and the Inspirational Speaker, Rev. Dr. Augustine Asir from India.

The Conference was set in motion by President Rev. Tevaraji with an opening service; followed by a motivational address on 'Leadership and Integrity' by Rev. Vincent Jayaraj.

The Inspirational Speaker, in his address on the two successive days, kept the audience in rapt attention in dealing with the theme. In session one he spoke on the Word of God gives Unity, teaches Unity and God's Holy Church experiences Unity. In session two the topics covered were Walk in Unity, Grow in Unity, Go in Unity.

The Bible Quiz Competition on the Book of Jeremiah and Memory Verses, was actively contested by the six District Representatives, with Selangor carrying the Shield.

The other highlight was the Talent Time when the women let their hair down and entertained everyone with dances, songs and skits. It was a time of relaxation and revelation of hidden talents.

On another note it was indeed gratifying to hear personal testimonies from individuals of how God has blessed them.

We had the usual Business Sessions where reports were submitted by the Coordinators, District Presidents and representatives of various committees. We also had time to hear our President TAC share information and views of affairs affecting us, women in particular, and the Church at large.

Elections of office bearers for 2006-2008 were also held. The main office bearers are:

The 31st Session came to an end with a Closing Service with the Dedication of the newly elected office bearers.

A big thank you to the District Superintendent and the members of the Organizing Committee who ensured that everything went smoothly without a hitch.
