May 2006 - Ultimate Goal of Education -To Know GOD

By Pauline Rambuyan

On the 25th of March 2006, MBSSKL held a dedication service of the MBSSKL Centenary Building, which is named Tan Sri Dato' Seri Lim Goh Tong Building, at the new courtyard of the school.

The arrival of the guests was at 8.30 a.m followed by the arrival of the Bishop of the Methodist Church in Malaysia, Bishop Dr. Hwa Yung at 8.45 a.m. The service of dedication began at 9.00 a.m. and led by Rev. Andrew Tan, Pastor of Wesley Methodist Church, Kuala Lumpur. The guests led by Pastor Andrew Tan, lifted our voices to sing 'Now Thank We All Our God' joyfully to worship our God.

At 9.00 a.m., Bishop Dr. Hwa Yung was invited to share God's message. In the message, he asserted that the chief end of education is to know God (Proverbs 1:1-6). The Tan Sri Dato' Seri Lim Goh Tong Building was then dedicated to the service of the Almighty God as well as to the ministry of holistic education.

We acknowledged God's faithfulness to us with the singing of the 'Great Is Thy Faithfulness'. Bishop Dr. Hwa Yung gave the benediction to close the service. Finally, Miss Moey Yoke Lai presented a souvenir to the Bishop as a token of appreciation.

We are truly grateful and thankful to our Gracious Lord who has touched so many ex-MBSKL students who gave so generously for the Centenary Building Fund. There was a good turnout of more than fifty guests who came with great joy to celebrate God's goodness and to praise Him.

Postscript:

Truly God is gracious and merciful! He has sown His love in the hearts of boys and girls from ages ago through the unstinting love and service of His faithful servants, the early missionaries who founded MBSKL, school principals and teachers who grew the school and nurtured the students to honour and love Him. In turn when the school needed resources to survive and flourish, the alumni responded beyond the comprehension of men but entirely in line with Father God’s grand design. The Centenary Building is certainly a testimony to God’s enduring love and faithfulness.

To God be the glory!
